How the Sors Came to Be (Multiverse 101) [Quick and Dirty Version, may be updated later]

We do not have a name for It. It is chaos personified, formless, all powerful, and most importantly, a complete idiot. From It, lesser beings were spawned. These beings are powerful in their own right, more powerful that it is possible to imagine. Some would call them deities, others monsters. These beings, seeing that It had no purpose, decided to set off to make their own universes to play with. As endless nothingness is extremely boring. These beings went off in many directions, looking for spaces to call their own. Eventually each being found what they were looking for and where they stopped, universes formed. Each universe was shaped according to it's respective deity's whim. Thus, the multiverse was formed.

As each universe was shaped by an individual's whim they ended up being quite different from each other. Yet, despite differences in theme, there was a consistency across all universes. There was always at least one planet that supported life. Humanity always became a dominant species. There was always at least one group of people with special abilities. These consistencies were shown throughout the multiverse. There were differences in how these came to be and how they operated though.

Years, then decades, then centuries, then millenia, and eons pass with each universe developing independent of one another. Then something happened. It noticed what was going on. It had become bored and opened it's eyes to the multiverse that had surrounded it for the first time. It then called all of it's progeny, and gave them a directive. We have no idea what this directive is, we don't even know if It or it's spawn really exist. But one day, across many universe, tears in the fabric of reality appeared. The odd brave, or stupid, explorer dared traversing these tears. What they discovered was that these tears went to other universes, effectively interconnecting the entire multiverse. Returning with news of what they had seen, the governments of the respective universes quickly set up diplomatic parties to other universes. Regular travel was established. A golden age was coming, everyone could feel it.

This new interconnected multiverse came to be known as the Sors. However, the golden age of the Sors would not last long. As time went on the portals became more and more unstable to the point of meltdown. Soon, travel was unable to happen in two directions, and everyone who traversed, was funneled in to one place. This place was familiar in some aspects, but strange in others. This was a place with stunning normalcy. In this world, the talents of Magic, and Reishi, and Jutsu were simply character traits in fiction. Is the world ready for the inclusion of these supernatural beings capable of awesome power? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, It and it's progeny dwell at the nucleus of it all. Thinking their alien thoughts and scheming their unknowable schemes.
